Got a couple of UK SE's in at present, on the standard unhomologated Omex 600 ecu...and it has to be said, they do run nicer, as can be seen here, nice steady idle below 1000rpm. Shame the tree huggers had to ruin things when it comes to homologation.

Some tricky conversations at the dinner table now with my 3 x girls + 1 x lad (he's no snowflake thank god). Tree hugging, actually hugging them is a bit wierd but strangely satisfying on woodland walks. But long live combustion engines.

That's a good call....I'll measure it out of interest. You never see the oil light flicker, unlike the later bikes.....I suspect tolerances to be much better on these very early engines. There's three different oil pumps used on 961's too, so would also be interesting to know the oil pressure differences between those. This bike doesn't have the ridiculous check valve fitted either.

Probably being a bit thick here but would an Omex 600 ecu fit in a dual seat bike as they are a fair bit bigger than the ones we have?

Omex 600 comes in the same case as the later homologated 630. Different wiring harness.

Jenvy, just looks the same as the euro 3 bikes that you got in the states, but has no iac, no mounting lugs for the valve bracket etc

These very early bikes had engine assembly outsourced, done by Menard Competition Technologies (MCT) iirc. On the road they pull really strongly.

Thats awesome. The IAC removal is probably the best modification for a 961 anyways. No if we could just get a supply of throttle tubes with high idle detents!!

Hi Fred what year is your 961 ? Did you know that SCS Delta sells the Delta 400S with the conversion harness for you bike ? They have the software downloads and some maps . If you think it will be easier dealing with OMEX , this may not be true . Maybe Stu can help you decide , but over here we have no support for OMEX and my Delta 400 has been doing very well so far.

The MCT throttle bodies are the Jenvey ones that have no IAC lugs cast into them, and the early green style injectors. Same as the ones me and a few others bought off ebay.

So I have a late 14000mile 2017 EURO4 961 decat and that would have an Omex 630? And mine ticks over just fine even though I have put bigger injectors in and K&N filters so this setup is capable of running without issues. So what exactly is the difference between mine and other similar who have problems? When I was having starter issues I found that if it struggled to start it got the fuelling all messed up so I ran it for a minute, turned it off and back on again (I work in IT) and it was good again.

The Löwe iacv is poor quality, and sticks. Many people bung the hoses up and adjust the throttle stop screws to give an idle. I replace those iacv's with a vdo part, which seems much better. But half the problem is the cross drilling to support the iacv...as covered quite a bit on this forum. The SE's just seem to be able to idle much lower and smoother than the homologated bikes. I will check oil pressure at idle though, out of curiosity.

Hi Clive , I would think that you have the Euro 4 OMEX (black case) ?

Mine is easily a match for a water cooled T120 Triumph Bonneville (High Torque 2016-2023) .
