It’s a bit of a Chinese puzzle to fit ( no offence meant to anyone , a lack of good descriptor in my limited vocabulary) , anyway once mounted you will be pleased , when I purchased my bike the PO had cut cross section out of inner tube and had it wrapped around foot peg mount and brake lever , it worked but was quite unsightly , to say the least , it did look like it belonged , considering overall condition though , haha!

Never mind the Chinese puzzle comment, I’m now officially offended too. I used a strip of old inner tube on mine (pre rearsets) !

I tried the proper spring, but it was a rather half hearted, saggy affair and didn’t return or hold the pedal firmly at all.

I most likely installed it incorrectly. It’d be good to see a video or pics of the correct method...

Fitted correctly they work great. I agree, should have been OEM.
Not as as tidy before install, but understanding what it does makes it gorgeous in my eyes.

Safety spring on - only a few minutes to install and very inexpensive.

Latest issue is the rubber boot on the stoplight switch tearing and disappearing. It lasted exactly 110 miles. I found my original ( also torn but reinforced with electrical tape) and installed it temporarily.
I have ordered 2 more as spares ( also ordered more bumpers for the side stand - torn as well ) Any suggestions for increasing longevity on these components? A coating of silicone perhaps ?

Modern rubber is absolutely terrible. I'm surprised your switch boot lasted as long as it did. I still have the new one I bought not long ago, pathetic torn little thing but it's hanging on. Try self fusing silicone tape as an alternative to electrical to reinforce the mounting point.

I'd love to learn a better fix as well.
