my ham can filter is a very tight fit worse than my 750.
the question is, has anyone machined down their intake manifolds.
I'm thinking of taking 2mm off each flange face that would still give me 1/4" left on each flange thickness.
I tried to find a thinner air filter but had no luck.

RGM sell reduced thickness air filter and mesh (or used to)

The RGM has the mesh thinned in length plus the bolts are shorter. The filter they use can be bought elsewhere

A yrs back there was a thread on folks trying to source a narrower filter or het K&N to custom make one for a ham can with cut down mesh screen...ala RGM's unit. No luck on sourcing a cut down filter other than RGM's offering...not a good option for a consumable when in North America with shippi g etc.
Some comments on fashioning a filter from those universal foam types used on dirt bikes etc.

Go by application ie the vehicles it fits, just make sure you check on the flexibility of the inner mesh as some are stiffer than others and you need to be able to bend it to fit the ham can.
