Another new Triumph, and a surprize one at that!

I think they are already at 180ps with the 1200. That comes with 125nm torque, so it will be peppy!
Though I wouldnt call it beautiful, I don't mind the look of the bare engine at all.
With the T160, I've never thought that engine looked quite as nice as the British parallel twins.
It has a bit of a Japanese look somehow in the squared off fin shape. I've also noticed that a person's taste in design changes a bit over time.
I could grow to really like that Japanese look.

The 750 Triples seem to be very good bikes and are getting more collectible all the time.
A few years ago there was a complete but non running T160 for sale at a bike show, $500 cdn cash. Stupid me, I passed on it.

In terms of style alone I think they really hit the mark with the first speed triple and the second type including the early Daytona's
They seemed to lose it a bit after that but I'm old and that's not the market those bikes were aimed at

I thought the first fuel injected bikes ie Daytona T595 and then 955i and the Speed Triple T509 were great. I bought a Roulette green T509 in 1999, it was a great bike, went to Spain , Portugal, Ireland on it - two up with luggage. Sold it when it was due it's first 'expensive' service and bought a one owner Slabside GSXR 1100 that I really wish I still had.
 
I had a T309 Trident, 1996 model bought as 'new old stock' in 2000. It had its problems - mostly electrical, HT coils and ignition sensor coils - but it went like the proverbial off a shiny shovel right up until it died; the camchain suddenly broke at 75000m. Only real gripe was its prodigious thirst, it burnt almost as much petrol as the Forester I was driving at the time.

Try a Kawasaki triple.......
 
I had a late 1993 900 Trident that I bought new and did a good 10k miles on it before then getting a new 900 Trophy. Very top heavy but a good strong engine, I had no issues with either of them. Then I got a Blackbird and realised what I’d been missing. Is see that the last MOT ran out in 2022 with still only 37k miles on it.
 
I have one of the last of the 955 Daytonas and absolutely love it, I have had it for 13yrs and cannot part with it. I also bought a new tiger 900 last year another great bike so comfortable and a joy to ride on the shitty UK roads

Nor a Norton. When Triumph launched the Scrambler -2006? - I went to the local dealer to scrounge a test ride. It was a nice day, so I went on my Commando. The salesman was suitably helpful, but made the point that their demo bike had the 'sporty' exhaust, so was quite loud. Thinks... you didn't hear me ride in then....

Sounds about right
My t160 dosent use much oil at all however my rocket 3 gets through it and neither of them smoke 🤔🤔🤔🤔

If its good enough for Ago , His Own Very One . Bought & paid for . ? was said to be one of the first customers . there ya go .

I put some holes in pistons on my T150v back in the day. Now I put a hole in my wallet with the T150v I have now. A great bike when it is sorted. But it is like a WW2 fighter plane: performance at the price of a short life. Most bikes back then were like that. Youthful enthusiasm did not help.
 
Should STAY TOGETHER , if youve got it right , and treat it right . Read the BOYER book , so theres NO FAULTS . shouldave 30 carbs , really .

Right Oil , too . Warm up carefully. and back off to slow detheraliseation , before
you getome . Uness theres a wee wee wee audable . use footlanes inthat case .

The oiling , fine tooth comb , insect under bright light , eyeglass 9 jewlers . etc .
Should be rugged as . Works Wacers weckened 2.000 Racing Miles between overhaul .
To keep it fresh .
Thats running pretty much Wide Open Continuous . Seen 60 hours for T120 cranks & alloy rods.

Not clever, riding without a helmet. I have written-off two helmets. One had a split in the back, the other had a flat worn on the top - both from my head hitting the road.
 
About 70 races finished and still zero wins. They also had a number of DNFs due to mechanical issues.
Mx is a tough area to break into.
I wonder if they will still go ahead with a 450?
I've read that the 450 might be used in modified form for some road models, so that could still be worthwhile.
