I just bought one from BritCycle, but not instructions were included. I see Bulbsthatlastforever don't have a website any longer. I emailed BritCycle, but haven't heard back yet. Should be pretty straight forward, but I see from previous posts that there were instructions originally.
 
I have a set of those instructions, so PM me if you can't get anything from BritCycle, and I'll make you copies.

Ah crap Bulbsthatlastforever were the best upgrade vibe and crash resistant voltage forgiveness poor plastic grounding reliable BRIGHT signal system to date. Pretty straight forward hook ups w/o concern with polarity. I only sold off Ms Peel's crash basted busted LEDs still working good kit with its benefitis on low rpm night time high beam and long brake light use advantage with 1.2 ah shirt pocket size battery, as have Chopper brain box for Ms Peel and Trixie is limited to factory number parts.

Not all of us interested or set up to make our on LEDs, my respects. I was glad to pay for BTLF which turned out a good investment on Ms Peel crashing a lot off road. LED clusters lost a number of LED crushed or knocked off but still brighter than filament. Tiny tail light wires broke too but just straight forward tedious reconnected. Next Mz Peel gets purple tint tiny LED frame/engine glow lights.

what is the part # for the 6LED unit? but the part number is partially covered by the screw head, the 24LED i can find.

can you recommend a source?

well it looks like i hit a wall on locating the 24LED unit too, Buckfizz please share the supplier's name thanks.

I bought the 6 LED unit from eBay (UK), but the supplier was Chinese - no surprise there.
If the link doesn't work, or you need ebay.com, search for "12V 6pcs Led Light Panel Board", or item number 262294518071.
From what I can see, the part number is SY-12V-6LED.
I used a small piece of red perspex/plexiglass, and bolted the LED boards to it, with a fibre washer to keep the soldered components from touching the perspex.
To make the board fit correctly, I turned the rear lens holder upside down - it worked better that way.
Then it's a simple matter to wire it up. I used a jumper to connect the earth/ground connections (black, as I have -ve earth).
Good luck with your board.

Or search for "12V LED Super Bright White Piranha 24LED board".

Those led taillight conversions are very nice. Is there a problem with the readily available (for under $10.00) led bulbs that fit directly into an 1157 socket? Amazon has lots of them. Does anyone have experience with them? Unless I am missing something, that route would seem to be easier and less expensive.

Those will only work if you have already converted to negative ground, unless Amazon has positive ground bulbs too.

You can buy +ve ground stop/tail LED bulbs, but they are quite expensive compared to -ve ground.
As I had already converted to -ve ground, I installed one of these into my L917 (rectangular) housing.
The tail light was OK, but the stop/brake was hopeless - the difference between tail and stop was marginal.
I think the reason for this was that the bulb is positioned vertically in the L917 setup - it may be OK in the earlier L679 (bullet) lamp.
That's why I fabricated my own LED board, which will work with both -ve and +ve ground.
 
The Bulbsthatlastforever unit has 4 LEDs pointing down for illuminating the license plate. (679 tail lamp)

Ordered them last night, should be here sometime between now and march :eek:
actually ordered a few of them as they were very cheap, will see if i can fit them into my other bikes.
Is there enough light for the number plate or have you something else rigged up?

I tried my rear light in darkness, and there wasn't much ambient light for the plate.
Normally, I don't ride at night, but never say never.
Therefore, I have ordered one of these to graft into the tail lamp for illuminating the registration plate.
I think most have benefited from this thread, me included.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. For best results when illuminating a red lens taillight, use Red LEDs. Full spectrum LEDs may appear brighter on their own, but all but the red component will be filtered out by the lens. From personal experience.
