So that means they are a lot better now without the made in the US and back in the early years running Champion plugs in Commandos when they had a bad batch of plugs (made in the US???)put a lot of people off Champion plugs for awhile but my Norton runs better with Champions as i found out when i suffered the bad batch, my Norton didn't like NGKs or any other plug with the same heat range.note, the old stock plugs have "made in USA" the recently purchased ones do not
I’ve had a few now, even from a supposedly reputable source.I just got a couple of N7YC, and checked for continuity before I installed them, and one of them had no continuity. Never had that happen before.
I bought my Norton new in the fall of '73. The only running issue I ever had was the entire center section on the timing side original Champion flew upward with the plug wire attached. So that means they are a lot better now without the made in the US and back in the early years running Champion plugs in Commandos when they had a bad batch of plugs (made in the US???)put a lot of people off Champion plugs for awhile but my Norton runs better with Champions as i found out when i suffered the bad batch, my Norton didn't like NGKs or any other plug with the same heat range.
Not everything that is made in the USA is best.

After multiple 2x1 Mikuni Commandos, NGK BPR 7ES have performed well in the humid south of the US for me. And easily sourced. Champions are still good plugs.I don't know as well but Champion plugs had a bad batch back in the late 70s and went with other brand plugs at the time NGK, Bosh and a few other brands at the same heat range but my Norton just didn't like them and after a week or so running with the other brands my motor started to have a misfire, so after some time I went back to Champion N7Ys and never had the misfire problem, and now running with the Joe Hunt I am getting longer life out of the Champion plugs, I put in a new set of N7YC after clocking up 35K miles when installing my old Amal carbs after having so much troubles with the PWK carbs I got off Jim, I only replace the Champions for turning the old Amals in, the old ones still looked like when I first put them in with the PWK carbs and ran with them for about 10 years and 35k miles.
With the clean and large spark from the JH the Champion plugs are running so good in my Norton and getting very long life out of them without any problems, I have no reason to change.
