The charm of gigs is at risk. Once they are gone, might be forever.
Apparently no compensation from UK authorities to set up new venue.
And as you say, this danger may spread to other activities.

It has already made a big dent in racetracks around here. Housing closed in and then all of a sudden the tracks make too much noise and soon they are gone. A lot of the tracks that I raced on years ago no longer exist because keeping it quiet for the new neighbors is priority even though the track had been in use for many years prior. Jim
