I have a rearset (MK3?, Norvil?) fitted to my Norton Commando. I recently bought the complete rubber replacement set from Andover Norton. However, the rubber for gear change lever and kickstarter are not correct.

I can fit the kick start ribber, but it protrudes a good centimeter over the peg. The gear change rubber does not fit at all, the peg is to small. I have fitted the worn original back on.

Does anyone know what would be the correct rubbers?

All rearsets, with the exception of those for the 200 JPN 850 mk2a's, are non factory. So you need to find out who supplied the rearsets and see if they still make the rubbers.

Thanks. The question is then, what rearsets might these be?

The shifter rubber looks a like ‘70s Japanese dirt bike item. You’d just have to hunt through the web and find pics of something similar. I had the same issue with my Norman Hyde rearsets, turns out he used Honda 750K foot peg rubbers.

Thanks.

But the kickstart rubber is still confusing me. The kickstart looks to me like an original item, but the stock rubber is a centimeter too long.

So is the kickstart not original? Has the pin been changed? And what kickstart rubber could fit?
When RGM site was working (till end of last year !) they could supply two different length for the kickstart rubber , and at that time I put both of them in my list to buy , because I have different kickstart model ...

Thanks.

How long is that kickstart rubber?
The OEM one supplied by RGM is 82mm long whereas the one meant for the long (excellent) RGM kickstart is only 72mm long.
The latter is also slightly smaller in ID.
Yours looks like it should be OEM but it would be interesting to know how long that "too long" rubber is?
Cheers

I must admit it's confusing me too!
What length is it?
Mine are also 82mm.
The RGM kickstarter is based on a Triumph T160 unit, incidentally.

If the rubber is tight on the lever then shortening it (from the inner end) is the answer.
If it's loose then that is not good - a shorter, loose OEM rubber is useless on a long RGM kicker.
Your opinion @Fast Eddie ? - yes, I know - just press the button! 🤣

I bought the kickstart rubber from Andover Norton last month. I am starting to think that the kickstart arm and peg are not OEM parts or replicas. I ended up keeping it simple for now and shortened the rubber. I will take some measurements of the peg later and post them.

That kickstart top looks a lot like the Italian pattern copy. I have one somewhere and will take a pic for you to compare.

Side by side, right foreground Pattern kickstart, left background OEM kickstart. Knowing how soft these pattern ones are I would replace it with OEM and your OEM/AN rubber will fit.
