I will work on this again this morning. Cliff are you available in an hour or so to help me test it?

The weird thing is that my Ipad and my phone are both on the latest and both work just fine.
 
One thing. Please switch to the light theme at bottom left of the page. Please let me know if the problem is fixed after that. This will let me know if there is some issue with this custom theme that I built, please can someone who has this issue try that and let me know if any change?
I doubt that’s it, i need to rule it out.

That's good - DNS certainly worked correctly for you. On my computer it's instant but my computer has been there many times. On my Android phone which has never been to that page, it's well under a second. Both are on WIFI in my house.

OK, that means that your DNS setup is fine so the update didn't mess that up. Do you have other devices that work in the same environment?

BTW, I've checked my security and Jerry's - we are the same so it is almost certain that it's either your device or something in between. I recently had a customer getting calls about their site being down/slow and everyone said they were having no trouble anywhere else. That turned out to be a bad circuit in the Washington DC Cogent hub of the Internet. In truth there were thousands of sites with trouble but the end user was only going to my customer's site and sites that did not pass through the bad circuit.

The Internet is not a single thing - there are a bunch of big carriers around the world who make it up and there is no one "in charge". For instance in the Washington DC area Cogent, Verizon, and Level3 all have major hubs and in those hubs you might be passed through several routers.
 
I've been studying Apple today. A soft reset won't help with network problems. Try these two I found:

Sometimes the Safari problem may be caused by incorrect network settings. Therefore, you can try to fix your Safari issue by resetting all Network settings to default. To reset network settings, just go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Notice that this method will remove all Wi-Fi login info. Therefore, after you reset Network settings, you have to re-enter the password to connect Wi-Fi.

If it has been a long time since you last restarted your iOS device, you can try a full power off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to fix your Safari problem. In this way, all processes on your device will be closed and the iOS memory will be completely released, which is helpful to let your iPhone Safari work normally.

Also, if you Safari is not up to date, fix that.

Hi Greg, I initially reported this to Jerry around a month ago after updating to IOS 14.5.1. A week later Apple released 14.6 and I thought they must have fixed it, but no, it's the same. I have tried everything, including disable all the experimental features to no avail. My wife's Ipad is on IOS 12.1 and works perfectly on this site.
 
I have done something as a test on the server to help me narrow this down. Please let me know if it is working for you now and let me know asap.

Sorry Jerry, just saw this, yep, I'm available. I'm in quarantine so no bike rides for me :(
 
I thought that this was being caused by our mod_security system. With Cliff, we did some tests and it seems unrelated. Cliff said his iPad is now working ok (weird as I did nothing at server side).

I have been reading about the latest iUpdates and its a mess. They are having wifi connection issues after the last update amongst other things. If that is the case you might say why is it ok at other websites? Its probably because this website is huge and a lot has to be loaded each page load and with a poor wifi it can be problematic.

I have worked on this quite a bit (about 3 weeks now). I know how to review server logs in depth. I am not seeing anything in our logs relative to this. I am not experiencing any issues with my iPhone or iPad using all browsers. I am on 14.6 version.

If someone who is having these issues has a PC or device other than an iDevice, I am willing to bet that if you go to your other device it will work fine (for example windows). I would be curious to know. That would be the ultimate test to see if its iPad related.

You probably have a DNS problem. That page should load within two seconds on a 1990's computer! Try the full power off and on - not a soft reset.

Assuming you have high-speed Internet and not using a satellite to get it.
 
FWIW,
Mine seems to be working a little quicker. Sort of reminds me of when a RAM cache fills up.
I’m packing my bike and leaving for Maine tomorrow so I won’t have any time for any system checks at home. Good luck getting this fixed, sounds like there is enough brain power involved. Pete
 
In case you're wondering, the reason I've asked people to test one of my pages is that it has nothing hidden - your browser makes a request and I return that request - in other words, "one round trip". This site does many things in the background that cause your browser to do many round trips - that's normal - and required to provide a robust site.

When craig said: "5 seconds , but took a couple minutes to load forum" it told me that what should happen in under a second took 5 seconds (one round trip = 5 seconds). For this site, lets say there are 10 round trips required - that means at least 50 seconds.

When browsing was invented, it was extremely simple and something like this site could not exist. Over the years complicated systems have evolved to make it all possible - but, the original protocol remains so things are much more complicated than they would be if designed today.
 
My CLAIT certificate stands for J*ck Sh*t in these heady times.. I can remember learning about cupboards inside cupboards but then it all goes cloudy :-)
 
I’ve just remembered I’ve got a data sim in the iPad, so I switched off my wifi and went to data roaming. The response time is the same as on wifi. The previous issues I’d had now appear to be over, all sorted. Fingers crossed.
