Good luck to the guy trying to sell this currently:
And if he does sell it... good luck to the buyer, parts not exactly easy to come by at present are they !?

Pre production prototype parts... I wonder what the story is behind this lot...?

That's the guy from Red Max Speedshop in Dunkeswell (near Honiton). Didn't he pull a 961 apart some years ago after having problems with it, and rebuilt it into a flat tracker.

Where’s the oil filter go?

This unit is different

The engine is a Dreer 961 Prototype, with a different timing cover - see the round "points" cover on the front.
The Dreer prototypes had the ignition rotor on the end of the camshaft.
Not sure where the oil filter was located on the prototypes.

not seeing where the oil filter is.
Good luck...
In the timing case , behind the round cover with 4 screws holding it .

Thanks. That’s my point. Don’t see where the oil filter is. Unless the whole side cover needs to be removed?

Maybe the H-D sportster concept of attaching the oil filter on the chassis was adopted for these early prototypes
