I’m confused, when reassembling the clutch plates on my 2016 Norton Commando 961 MkII, do you soak the plates in oil overnight or just lightly apply?

I’m confused, when putting new clutch plates back together, do you soak in oil overnight or just apply a light coating?
This is for a 2016 Norton Commando 961 MkII.

Next question. I replaced clutch basket with Yamaha SRK51. I stock clutch, there 7 fiber and 6 steel plates, in SRK one there is 8 each. The springs are longer too. So, do you use the whole “new” basket? Then, there is not a fiber plate on one end.
Any help appreciated from someone who has done this.

You copy the stock plate setup of the 961. One of the steel plates in the srk51 is slightly thicker than the others. Don’t use this one. Again copy the arrangement of the OEM plates and use the 10% stronger/ longer springs. I did . Also I soak the plates overnight.
