Extra fuel slot don't matter a whitworth unless sustaining hi throttle, (not necessarily even WOT) to climb long steeps illegally fast or catch up to traffic on freeways/turnpikes, may loose power heating up going too lean. A Combat can have this happen after exceeding 100 for a mile or more.
Very nice hand craved slot, mine were done same way/tools but not so pretty. The fancy sportbikes squads usually run up to 115-120 max in Ozark opens - not much over a mile so long so Trixie Combat could hang with then to 115-ish, staying short of red zone, so didn't get far ahead not to be right back with on turns. The REAL challenge to hang with 120-180's hp bikes is being able to accelerate about as much as they did to pass cars in time or rushing back up to speed into opens. The slots in dual 32 Amals allowed it.
For something else to do while waiting on engine stuff, poke a big cherry red hot nail through Lockheed master cylinder rubber 'valve' restriction. Ya do have rear brake safety spring installed don't ya?
