I need to sell one of my bikes and yes I really am thinking of parting it out. Some bikes just dont have that much interest anymore but bits seem to sell. Takes more effort and time but money is money.

But, do enough of the bits sell to make up the "whole" price?
I'd wager at least half of the parts would never sell. Sounds attractive at first but.... really?
Cheers

Gas tank, bottom end sold showing it nice and clean, same with pistons & cylinders as a set, cylinder head separately.
Seat, forks, wheels, levers, exhaust complete, cable set complete, sidecover pair, fenders, wiring harness...

I recently had to part out a 750. I have the drum brake front wheel listed in classifieds and have sold/used all major components except the frame (powder coated but old style side stand mount bent beyond use). I am right-side up on it money wise and once someone makes me an offer on the front wheel I'll be happy overall.
So, I have not "sold" enough, but since I'm building a bike for a customer and this one has a brand new 850-style 750 cylinders, along with new pistons, tappets, camshaft and a good crankshaft and rods that I used it was no issue. Also a good battery box, rear fender, foot pegs, rear brake lever, etc. It would have really been good if I could have used the frame - some dummy added the rear loop strengtheners but did not fix or preferably replace the side stand mount and then had it beautifully powder coated.
