New guy, seeking advice and advil

Think only of the joy you've given to another individual. Perhaps it may come back around to you one day..... The joy... Not the bike. Although receiving a fine bike cheap would be a great joy in and onto itself.

Oh, that's for sure. The buyer is pleased as punch, reports much more torque than his 750, and way quieter ("quiet" peashooters). He's going to throw away a bunch of play money on it, just for fun. The joy came back to me already, I am paying for a concrete slab, steel materials, and an erector for my new shop/garage.

That is a beauty... and there are a few on ebay and elsewhere in that same lofty range. Tempting if it is actually as great as described. Others have also wisely noted the difference btw "asking price" vs "selling price"

I might reach out to the seller. Not my first choice in color or year, but a desirable bike no doubt

the market see this as the most desirable year , and black and gold is not your first choice ? comeonman! ( just kidding about color preferences, to each their own)

IMHO it would have to be inspected , the details looked at, the paperwork looked over and ridden by someone in the know at that price, but it does take nice pictures

For obvious reasons does anyone have specific info on importing a bike into USA from Canada .... thank you for any first had info/experience ....

I have not imported any bikes from Canada but I did import my ES2 from England some years back. IIRC there was some sort of threshold at 500cc - above that displacement the costs increased .I don’t know if that is still in effect or not and I also don’t know if imports from Canada are treated differently. EVERYONE had their hands out with palms up along the way needing them crossed with $$. I hired a customs agent to help with the process and for all that I got a nasty surprise from the government a year after importing it for some B.S. in the form of “ you still owe us several hundred dollars “ - nothing to do but write another check ...

21 Complete restorations
3 Salvage Rebuilds
26 Major refurbs & re-commissions
8 Make-Run "Resurrections" not part of the above counts
22 Engine overhauls not part of the above counts
Also 152 other bikes I've owned and sold along, but didn't build, restore, or refurbish.

Impressive grandpaul !

The most fun projects wee the custom builds, especially the "hybrids" like the 3 Tritons and my race bike. The race bike is a Triumph Bonneville build from parts from 1965 thru 1970. "Onsies" get boring after a while. I also really enjoyed 4 chopper rescues; there was some serious butchery that got remedied.
