Norton 961 Alternate parts list.

What is the recommended engine oil switch?
Can’t find it on the forum…
Thanks!
Unfortunately I have not been informed of another suitable switch by anybody replacing one. From the list Stu provided here I can see the Norton part number is 5210044 ( Made by SMP). Perhaps the best thing to do would be to remove your one and look at the markings on it . They normally have the operating pressure stamped on them. Also measure the thread diameter & pitch while you have it out, and collectively we can probably come up with a better replacement.

Thanks Cliffa.
Stu said it’s shit in my oil light problem post, I think we need to find a better suitable one for the future 👍

Put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on and use an electric pressure sending unit and plug it into the bikes existing wiring.

You’ll have an idiot light and better yet, a visual oil pressure gauge reading.

Another gauge? I’m looking to get rid of one of the two we have already🤣
I will never put another one, minimalism and clean look is important for me…

Just take all the gauges off. While you’re at it, take off the fuel injection and all the other electrical components.
Then swap to carburetors and a magneto ignition.

Also, switch to a proper oil tank and ditch the oil in frame.
How important is it to ride your bike compared to pushing it?
Just asking for a friend.

My bike ride amazing for now🤣 less some sensors issues and I ride it daily✌️

Guys quit putting conversations in the parts thread as its already a mess. Its simple unless you are adding a part to the list don't post anything else here or ask questions not related to the parts ALREADY listed here. Start a new post on your topic ONLY AFTER YOU SEARCH if the topic was answered previously. Then if you have a new part to add come back here and add it.

There was a whole thread about oil pressure gauges and it gives the thread for the gauges. So if you take that and then find out what the current switch is rated(page 26 of the service manual) then you can find 20 different switches that will work. you need a M10x1.25 oil pressure switch rated at .20 or .25 bar which is about 3 psi or even higher which we prefer.

Really sorry for that, I absolutly totally forgot about it in this thread.
By the way, I did a search "oil preasure" and a few more options, I marked it on "this forum" and I got nothing to my surprise. I know how to search, maybe a problem with the search engine here.
Just a suggestion, maybe to "clean" this thread and delete all comments here that gives ZERO information.
Sorry again.

Here is my search, I found only my post.

Hi there
Has anyone come across the bolts for the 2010 billet clutch, the long part that screws into the clutch basket, spring goes on this an then a 6 mm bolt screws into that compressing the spring
Cheers

I guess it does no good to ask Norton for it. The cast clutch does not have this. Can you have one made ?

Hi Rob, and welcome. What’s the issue with yours? When I stripped mine, a couple of them came out with the bolt instead of the bolts undoing, so I screwed them back in with strong thread lock and staked the ends. Any decent machine shop should be able to make them for you.

Hi

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a gear jam tool here in the UK, Norton part number 8900007 (6.9.1(C) in the manual ). I know I can get an aftermarket one imported from Canada but I need to source one ASAP. I can machine one if I can hold of a drawing.

Many thanks
