Hi guys,
Anyone replaced the std commando rear brake switch with a better alternative? After several decades of dealing with the oem switch I'm thinking time for a change!
There are a multitude of switches now out there and there must be several that can be modified to fit a commando.
Cheers.
Andy

I use a push/pull switch and spring from an old Honda dirt bike from the 70s that I had laying around, easy to install and has been on my Norton for over 30 years now.

Find a heavy duty microswitch with normally closed contacts. Rare. But you can find single pole double throw (SPDT) microswitches which work. I made up an aluminum adapter plate to bolt up to the thin slotted plate on the brake pedal to adjust as the original. I will take some pictures tomorrow morning. (I bought 10 switches at the time, cheap, from a surplus house.)

I made a simple bracket so you can use any Japanese style switch instead..
