RGM Folding KS....

Came across a FB post on the Norton Commando page stating the RGM fiolding kickstart lever is FINALLY back in stock. Jumping over to RGM website and it appears they are having an outage for some time now....just a simple catalog type text page for stuff...no sign of the KS on it...but did come across this line on the "New & Restocked" section:
"Our Folding Kickstarts are available on part number 050179"|

Have at it folks...if you can get through to them...

I finally did get through to them and mine is on the way. It took several emails but Junior did respond.

Did I read somewhere that this lever doesn't work with the MK3 ?
Whats the issue, does it foul something or something else?

Yes, and when you compare it to the MK3 kickstart its length is not much different so not worth the effort.

I just received my new kickstart lever. It is a bit longer, tucks neatly out of the way of my ankle, and it fits snugly on the shaft without wobbling.

I got mine yesterday and it fits just like you describe. Nicely done.

Check when it folds out in the kicking position if it stops at right angles to the bike.
Mine "over" rotated, meaning it was pointing slightly to the rear so when I kicked it the rubber and/or my foot would try to slide off.
To their credit, RGM addressed the issue, but keeping the story simple, it took a few iterations to get it right.

I have had mine for 15 years now and still as good as the day I fitted it, drove me nuts with the stock kicker and the back of my leg and foot position on the footpeg, the RGM folding kicker fix that problem and that little extra height made it easier to kick over my high compression motor and it don't come lose on the shaft like my old kicker did.

I bought one of these a few years ago but never installed it on my combat. I finally got a new tank for my 68 fastback and got it painted and installed and on a whim installed the rgm starter to replace the original that had pretty worn serations and did not clear the peashooters currently on the bike. Done about a hundred miles with it and really like it. For whatever reason, the 20m3 has one sweet motor and now paint to match.

I suspected you weren't correct there so checked my mate's Mk3 this afternoon (while we were having a beer, of course!).
His is 220mm from K/S shaft to centre of foot piece and my RGM is no more than 5mm longer - wouldn't have credited that!

But can you use a Mk3 lever?

Why can’t you use a RGM kickstart lever on a TTI box?

What about a proddie race lever ?

If you’ve got a propane torch, a vice, and some weetabix, you can bend the stock kicker in such a way as to extended it usefully…
