Dumbass question time... are they interchangeable, meaning can a new x ply be fitted to a bike that has an old bias ply already on it?

Just bought a new set of Avon Roadrunners (NOT road Riders). The runners are still the universal type - either front or rear. Doesn't appear to be any change in them re ply alignment, etc - old school, I guess. 
FWIW, AVON's fitment specs shows the 100/90/19 (or the 4.10/90/19) fit a 2.15 to 2.75 rim.

Can't find any reference to an Avon Roadrunner tire on the Avon motorcycle tire web site (US), just the Roadrider. The 100/90/19 Roadrunner universal is still listed as a historic tire on the British Avon motorsport tires site. But the only Roadrunner 19 inch tire I can find available in the US is the 90/90/19, and it's a front only tire. Is it only available in the UK? Where did you buy yours?

RoadRider and RoadRunner both exist.
Fast Eddie's picture of an AM9 looks close to a Dunlop K70 (they do call it a retro design) and they are RoadRunners. The RoadRider MKII looks similar to the AM26 RoadRiders I've been using.
Before someone corrects me - I know nothing about this - I simply buy AM26 tires (or for the Brits, tyres);

The EN-US Avon site does show the AM9 Roadrunner, but in the classic race tire section, and only in 18" sizes.

Nice timing.
I found the latest AN source very interesting regarding the Continental's, there is a possibility those tyres would need to run at a higher than usual pressure compared to the RR.
I have a set and certainly little in common with the RR construction wise.
A pity the Metzeler Roadtec 01 does not have a fitment for the Commando for a sport/touring/mileage tyre.
No, I did that (34psi) and it wore like mad, which makes me think that this is well made tyre. Down to 31 on the rear 29 front and the rear wear rate has improved. Just about to fit another and run it from new at 31psi to see what miles I get from it.
