I notice the ignition switch is missing its cover (although that could be intentional, perhaps not got around to fitting it yet).
You left Mr Scofield out of the mix !!Rolf, Jimmy or Gary will get it!
(Apologies if that's in bad taste)
Still got lots to do in that area, just checking fit with some parts while I wait for the postman.I notice the ignition switch is missing its cover (although that could be intentional, perhaps not got around to fitting it yet).
You were bang-on with this, the Andover pattern replacement dash is 3/4" wider than the original, and much bigger all round. I had this kicking around from my last MK3 build so decided to use it as the original was cracked and missing the holes for the bolts. Hadn't really looked closely at it until now.I know camera angles can be deceptive (it never lies, but CAN bend the truth), and I don't know how 'original' my bike is, but...
How wide is your warning light binnacle? Looks a little 'dumpy' compared to the one I have, and your clocks appear to be more splayed....
Again, totally inconclusive and may be just the differing pictures, but I wonder if any 'pattern' parts in the mix may add up to anomalies??
Yes, you are correct, it is wider. That's the latest replacement type and does look wider than the original console.

Lawdy!!! Best keep mine under wraps when I'm out!It looks as though some opportunist is watching this thread![]()
Word of caution! I have Veglia’s on my MK3 and they were set-up exactly like this inside the ears with a noticeable inwards bend on the Tachometer cable. Anyway, I decided to change the Tachometer cable as the heat guard protector was discoloured and the outer cable was noticeably wearing on the head lamp ear. When I removed it the drive cable snapped right up inside the Tachometer and needed to be professionally removed by a specialist which was very expensive. The bend in the cable stressed the inner drive cable and caused mine to fracture. I now run the Tachometer cable on the outside of the ears. The speedo cable however doesn’t seem to bend nearly as much so that remains on the inside.Just quickly fitted the headlamp shell using the original 5/8" spacers and I think it looks okay.View attachment 107644View attachment 107643
It's a shame money was spent to tool up for it and not get it right..That's the latest replacement type and does look wider than the original console.

My thoughts exactly. Almost £40 for a part that causes all sorts of issues with other components, potentially causing cables to break. It's a shame money was spent to tool up for it and not get it right..
This is probably how it will be from now on.
I saw the £500 console on eBay and thought it might be a joke. Managed to source a (hopefully) nice one from the States for a lot less!It looks as though some opportunist is watching this thread
Is there other possible reason this repop wasn't even CLOSE to being correct? Another model? It's a shame money was spent to tool up for it and not get it right..

Absolutely ridiculous!Just switched out the Andover part for my old original and difference is huge. You can easily fit the original console inside the Andover one! cables now easily clear the ears, even with the 7/16" spacers.

Both of my MK 111's have original style consoles , one replaced recently . Original . Talk to Mike at Walridge Motors . Not cheap .The binnacle / console would be a very good candidate for 3D plastic printing, but even on the earlier bikes I don't like the way the edge of the ears rub on the cables. I have plastic edge trim on mine.
