Hi all,

I got hold of a '69 TR6C basket case a few years ago, and I'm finally making some progress.
I figured that if I started a thread it would shame me into finishing it šŸ™ƒ

This is the colour

Strange fruit...

One issue I found was the Lucas PS9 dipswitch was unobtainable in the UK. It's a push switch which latches between main & dip by rotating a terminal block. A nasty design, but necessary as I want the bike to be as correct as possible - within reason.
A lot of British cars also had similar switches fitted, but not with the same functionality, and after a long search I found a new one at Morrie's Place in the US.

I've just finished lacing up the wheels with spokes & rims from the Devon Wheel Company, and I have to say that their quality is way ahead of the other 'usual' sources in the UK.

Did you go with SS rims and spokes or plated and zinc? I know you stated you are all in on the originality but unless you drop painful dosh plated stuff ain't what it once was.

I went with stainless everything. The 'within reason' part.
You're exactly right about plated stuff nowadays.
The Devon rims are pretty much indistinguishable from good chrome.
I built some Commando wheels a while ago with rims from a large midlands-based supplier, and they were very nickel tinted by comparison.
 
I found a vid of the switch before I fitted it as it appealed to my Engineers' sense of 'let's learn from past mistakes'.
