Incidentally, was there any TVS Norton presence at the TT?

You mean officially? Not as part of the event but they do have a large presence at the Victory Cafe up the mountain. Bikes on display, merch shop, etc

That seems like another missed sales opportunity. Only a small percentage of the attending fans would go up on the mountain, whereas if they had something near the grandstand it would get many more views = potential sales.

They also didn’t bother to show up at the N.O.C. meet at Welford, where literally hundreds of Norton fans attended.

Yes agree....however, playing devils advocate.....

John McG (TT Legend) has bad-mouthed Norton in every interview he's done in the previous 4yrs so would be interesting to see how their presence would go down. Also, looking at where they're putting the new dealerships (sports car dealers, etc) and the influencers they are associated with - is the TT their target market?

I suspect McPint didn’t get paid, so he has a right to be unhappy, however that’s not down to TVS Norton really.

The target audience for Norton appears to be folks who go to red carpet and champagne events or hipsters, however I think they are ten or more years late to that party.

The TT and such events attract folks from all over the world, so surely anything that shows they are still alive and producing bikes can only be positive?

For sure - agree with everything you've said. I personally think it was weird that they weren't there - captive market, blah blah blah. Was only suggesting why they may not have been there.

For info - Yamaha actively avoided it too and specifically told Hillier (factory backed Yam team) to not take their bikes so they had to run Hondas.

Say what?!!

Yup - this is the press release...but if you listen to any of his interviews he says that Yamaha told them not to take their bikes as they didn't want a presence and as they were the factory backed team, they had no choice. Few R1's there but they were all privateers

Hi just took delivery of my 961 so thought I would make my 1st post.
I remember 2009 I think it was. Gardner took over the cafe in Nobels park and had the early 961s on show in the pavillion. I sat on one then and vowed to get one. It has only took to now lol.
They also went to the Crosby for a Norton night a year or two later. . The TT did seem important to Donington Norton. Ian Mackman and Dan Hegarty running really well on the 1st V4s
I also remember them turning up at thundersprint I was running my old 500ss 88 Domi. They rebuffed my requests for a test tide round the track though.
