No one said it won’t rev above 5k. Ride it back to back with a twin carb bike and you’ll see what we mean.

But if you only did this to test it… then you don’t need to test it !

You can ride pretty fast these days once out of town and so long as there isn't too much traffic
I rarely see a police car in my area
And as long as you know where the speed cameras are you are good to go
I'm often above 90 mph but rarely above 100 mph

Yes I’m very aware of what I have, was why I bought it. I’d never heard of cNw until said video popped up in my YT recommended feed; when I then saw that very bike was up for sale I’d pretty much decided there and then I had to have it. Long conversations with Bill the owner and Matt sealed the deal.

That's impressive. I don't have that need anymore I guess. As someone said, different riding styles. 👍
 
Pushed it back from a Liquor store run . ( Flat streets , no problem , gave me a little exercise . Showered .) Replaced MK1V Boyer connectors inside the points cover and she fired up with big white sparks at the pulled and grounded plugs .
 
I got some quality workshop time in and made up some phosphor bronze shims for the rockers on my Maney head.

Next job is to shorten the head studs, then I can get the top end built at last.

Don't forget the rocker is supposed to be offset from the centre of the valve to encourage rotation

I did away with the Thackeray washers on mine and shimmed the rockers to centre of the valves
I assume an offset rocker spreads the wear on the tip of the valve stem?
I use black diamond valves and I haven't seen any indent as yet

What type of material did you use for the shims?
 
4 years and haven't ridden it, W T F, what a waste, get on it and ride it, it's what they were made for, just don't over rev it, or is it just a show pony to be trailed to bike shows and tell everyone how good it is, can't understand that people spend all that money and never ride them, come on get that Norton dirty and ride it, it's just going to waste not being ridden.
