What Did You Do With Your Commando Today?

I ended up ordering these Taiwanese-made peashooters (not emgo) for about US$250 and they look nice. Went on easy, and sound authentic. That growl is what I was hoping would be preserved with these and they certainly were. I'm gonna take my English-made silencer to my fabricator guy up the road to ask him to see what he can do to weld it up nice. Keep that set as a spare - clean it up, and maybe mount them on the Combat since those are a little rougher looking.

That is a new cam!! Damn what a waste having to put it in a drawer.

Is it really that lumpy a profile? If you have the tuning chops making a bigger cam work in a Norton can be fun although mildly impractical on the street.
.405 lift 296 dur. 105 lc. Megacycle 560-NDP 06-07 I remember hearing that you need to run a fast idle and it's not good for street use?

Neato. Hot road and track cam. A touch hotter than the JS03.

Has anyone on this website actually used that cam and verified a Norton engine can't be tuned to use it on the street? Based on most of the stock is best talk here, I sort of doubt it.

It would probably be too much cam for most Norton owners, be hard on the clutch, and you might never get out of 1st gear in town until over 35mph. Fun out in the countryside without stop signs and your TTi gearbox.

I'll give you $50 for it, since it's no darn good. ;) kidding

I'm sure it could run on the street but it would be one red hot mess in traffic. I have a set of combat cases and may try it in that build. what I worry about is how hard it would be on the valve train. Chuck.

I put a deer whistle on my bike today, on the headlight ear. late afternoon riding in the summer is risky around here in Michigan. I'm not sure if they can hear the high pitch whistle over the throaty Commando engine, but worth a try.

What does it sound like ?
If it's anything like the kangaroo ones over here, it's above audible range.

I had two mounted on top of the rear windscreen spoiler on my last car, to get maximum effect. Once I was pulled over for speeding and the cop asked "what are those things?"
My reply "They're cop detectors."
Him "Really?"
Me "Yep, they worked didn't they?"
He had a good laugh and let me off.
