You might be able to look up your bikes serial number here. Yours was built about 2 months after mine.
Good to know, but how does one get the oil through the grease zerk? Please DON'T grease the swing arm
It takes oil in that grease nipple
I used to have a small grease gun full of 140wtGood to know, but how does one get the oil through the grease zerk?
Damn, your good. A few of those I was aware of including the oil valve which I plan on removing. Also has a reed valve under seat so not sure on location and whether to keep. Bike was built 11/73. Any recommendations on oil line replacements to remove valve? Thinking transmission cooler line? Any thoughts on cylinder fin repair? Thanks.
I put my Reed valve under the seat. It is supposed to be as close to the engine case as possible, but mine works well. I pulled it recently to check for water and oil emulsion and it was fine, after 1500 winter miles. So, check occasionally, but no need to change the location.Damn, your good. New to anything carb on a bike. Was gonna run ethanol freeThe fireflake blue is beautiful. Oil pressure gage. Well done.
O.P., are you knowledgeable about carburetor operation, maintenance & repair? I read your fuel injection comment.
If it MAY sit idle for a month or more, use Sta-Bil.
Thanks so much Greg, Im sure I will have lots of questions as I get into this. Everyone has been so helpful here compared to other bike forums I belong too.I'm Annandale, VA - my phone number is at the bottom of every page of my website - call if you need help.

Amal Concentrics are much maligned and you will find many varying opinions on the forum regarding them. But when they work right, they are a joy to behold.New to anything carb on a bike. Was gonna run ethanol free

This advice given to me by LAB cured my suspension / brake issue on my 1974. And....probably contributed to the reason why the gentleman sold it to me after a very brief ownership!Awesome observation. Will do. Appreciate any advice and concerns.

'74 has expandable "freeze plug" type end caps, no through bolt.Dan,
I take the zerk out and with the bike on the side stand I pump 140W into the hole.It is a slow process but works for me.Hopefully your rubber seals are still good as mine will leak after filling. I would be Leary to take out the long bolt that holds the dust caps on as it threads into the cap on the primary side and is a real bitch to put back in situ.
