You'd think so, but when I got back I had to look in the mirror to find the strap to get my helmet off - my hands were so cold!!

Can't expect too much I suppose, after all it is only mid July

Drove it to North Caledon and back . Ran perfect . Strapped on 2 bags of soil for the tiny pot patch . 4 plants are now legal here . Battled red ants .

After a two plus month riding hiatus due to breaking my left (luckily!!) ankle, ribs and other injuries, managed to kickstart the Commando.
Hugely satisfying and reminded me how great she sounds. The first stage in getting back to riding.

Thanks, all this was done before I purchased the bike approx. 14 years ago. I've made lots of changes to make the bike more usable and really enjoy my time on the bike. I don't use it that often & sometimes think I should sell it on BUT all it takes is one or two good days with the bike & I just can't think of not having it in my 'collection'

Yesterday saw my first ride, bloody marvellous!

Installed a complete air filter assembly on my 850 Mk2.
Reasonably straightforward, and only a small amount of blood was released during the process.
(Fitted the front plate, with rubbers, first, and then pulled that forwards with a webbing strap around the cylinder head.)

With the arrival of some new parts and an assist from Matt Rambow, I am moving forward again on the resurrection of my Norton. Hoping to bring that new electrical system to life soon. Electrical starter parts are beautiful and oh so precise. Just hope I don’t screw them up.

I used the Norton as transportation and rode it to the gym with my bag on the back and my thermos in my tank bag. It lights off first kick and idles when stopped. I am well pleased with the single Mikuni conversion.

I rode across Detroit's north west suburbs to Woodward Avenue where cruisers and spectators were warming up for the annual Woodward Dream Cruise. Classic cars, trucks, hot rods, motorcycles, sports cars etc cruise up and down Woodward Avenue as people line the street with chairs, blankets and tents to watch. The event officially takes place on Saturday but unofficially takes place in the evenings during the week leading up to the cruise. It gets congested but a very fun thing to see and participate in. Especially on a Norton on a beautiful Wednesday evening. https://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/

Love to do that cruise! Woodward is well known to Pontiac guys as it was well known that Pontiac took some of their hot cars out the back door to Woodward for “testing”. One of my favorite posters is of a 68 GTO sitting, waiting for a race. Its signed by Jim Wangers, one of the Pontiac insiders who made it happen.
