Funny to watch not so funny to experience that stop of the kick. I know what it is like.
Wish I had the energy to re-engineer a cNw starter so I could use one on my P11. Although it might be a heck of a lot cheaper to put mid-CR JS long rod pistons in my engine and remove the high CR JS pistons. Yeah that's the ticket.
Thanks I'm not entirely sure they are the same as what ends up on a P11 kick start. I haven't had a Commando since the late 1980's. I feel your pain on the postage for certain. I'm currently in a not ordering anything that would be shipped from outside the US mode. Really puts a damper on having a Norton toy. Fortunately I can also pretend like I'm done messing with it. I'll see how long that lasts.

I was going to remove the electric starter on my Ferrari 328 to get that satisfying "starting without assistance" feeling but couldn't figure any way to get a crank mounted.
OK, not really.
BUT
I installed an Alton E-start on my Commando in December '12. Sometime in November '12 was the last time I kick started it. I removed the kickstart lever a year later....
I had a Peugot 404 in the late 70's (1.6 litre 4 cylinder) that had a hole in the front bumper for the manual crank handle. Of course, I just had to have a go - and yes it did start the thing!!
It didn't become a habit though. Strange that!!
