Can someone in the know here tell me if a Norton Atlas running gear from a 1969 model might fit into a 1965 Atlas frame? Thanks
in advance. Robert

When you say running gear do you mean hubs.

This is the Andover Norton page for the Slimline Featherbed for singles and twins, this version of the Featherbed was introduced in 1960ish. So used for all 750 Atlas.

Actually, I am referring to motor and transmission installation. Thankyou for your reply.

Yeah the question is a little hard to interpret with the 1969 Atlas text.

1969 being the first (or last) year a 67 or 68? Atlas was registered Yes it will be very straight forward. If it is 1969 Commando "running gear" it will not be a bolt-in no modifications project. However, it will fit in the space for the engine and gearbox. I have not done it, but have a reasonable idea about what it would take. A few people that participate on this site have put a Commando engine and gearbox in a featherbed, but they may not be paying any attention to this forum currently.
