Anyone running the Heidenau K65 19 inch tire front and rear?

I tried to post a link but would not let me link direct to K65 page

Yes.

Only a few hundred miles, but looks, feels MUCH better than the old Battlax.

Search is yore friend.

Tyres for motorcycles have always been a problem . Most bikes went from 19 inch to 18 inch in the late 1960s. I have a bike which uses 17 inch. Fitting smaller wheels to get better rubber does not work very well. It can really stuff the handling.

I've always found tires on my motorcycles to be a good thing. Handling is not a problem for me because I am not a racer.

AMC went to 18" wheels on their heavyweight road models in 1963! The difference in tire circumference is generally quite small.

Andover Norton posted today that it is going to be selling Heidenau tires for Nortons and the tires are for both front and rear. I called Cody, Cedar Rapids Tires, the new US Heidenau distributor. Although the website indicates that K65 Heidenaus are for front only, Cody verified (and I was persistent on this) that the 19 inchers are good for front and rear. Now question: Heidenau makes 90/90-19's and 100/90-19. Assume the 100/90 best for rear?

On my third season of Hiedenau 65's. 100 width on the rear.

Just to be clear, still a low tread depth tire, when compared with a dedicated rear tire. (we don't have any 19's any more) So, 2/3 of the miles of the old days..

I'm using a Heidenau K44 3.25H19 on the front, it's a semi ribbed classic pattern.

It pairs well with the 100/90H19 rear.

I cleared with Heidenau the the K65 100/90x19 is good for front and rear. That was a prerequisite for Andover Norton to order them.

THis is a great discovery. I think I will try a set in 90/90 and 100/90 on a Mk 2 I am doing. This could be my replacement for Avon RR. I recently bought a Mk 3 with fairly new K81s on it. They do nothing to change my mind that they are a dated design. Loved the avons and have had good luck with Heidinaus on three bikes so seems like a good replacement to me.

If you are happy to run a front fitment on the rear, then Dunlop, Metzler, Kenda, Maxis, Michelin, & Bridgestone all make 110 90 19 tyres.
