Norton 961 Alternate parts list.

Dunno, never known them to use anything but Yamaha. I was using Yamaha plates there in 2016, and they were still using them when it went belly up. The BOM just states Yamaha as the supplier. Cant find a buy in price for the frictions, I'll have another look later. But they were buying in Yamaha steels at £4.48 each, circa 2018.
It would have been around 2009 - 2010 when the discussion was made to use Vesrah, as the cost of using Fowlers wasn't sustainable. I remember one of the design engineers talking to me about it. I assumed that they had progressed with it, but it looks like it was either short lived or never happened.

Vesrah are probably one of those unreasonable type of suppliers who expect their invoices to be paid!
So if they were selected as suppliers, praps not for long.

With the reputation that Garner Norton had any new supplier who was using invoice insurance from the like of Euler Hermes

would have been told Garner Norton would not be covered by the policy so were on their own.

I was working for one firm that had the US parent company go into Chapter 11, any existing suppliers with EH policies could carry on supplying but no new supplier could get cover. So it became cash in advance if we wanted goods from new suppliers with invoice insurance.

so like the many engineering firms from the early days that are probably claiming against the receivers then!

Electrex Crank sensor only part number is P6-500, 500 ohms. It also fits many Japanese bikes. Maybe some one will recognize it and give us a "Honda" number Norton 961 Alternate parts list.

Thank you Gene !! I have added that info to the top of the thread. Always check there first as Jerry is rammed at the moment so the "List" is not up to date yet.

I see from you other post she fired up immediately - Happy Days !! :) :) :)

Really useful list. I fitted indicators from a Daytona 955i (year 2000) - looks the same but with a ‘springy stalk.’ Triumph part number T2705200 (Indicator Assembly).

Thank you Sir. I'm sure they fit & work fine, but isn't that indicator a slightly different shape to the 961 ?

2000 595 / 955 Part no. T2705200

As fitted to 961 (Which I think is the same as Aprilia / Triumph 675 / Speed triple)..

Or a flexible version ( by the looks of it) part no. T2705195

Dear Cliffa you are absolutely right - my sincere apologies to all for any confusion.

Happy New Year!

Hi Noel, no info on it so far otherwise it would be on the list, however it's a Brembo switch for a single banjo which presumably are much the same except for the electrical connection on the end? I don't have access to my bike at the moment, so if you can look at the connection there are loads on eBay, for example :

Hope that helps.

Hi All,

Whilst only a minor part, a key blank for a Cagiva, part number CA800084071 appears to be an exact match for my bike. The logo on the key some will recognize as a Zadi, which possibly means some ignition components are manufactured by them.

Picture is as per:

Harglo, blimey that's a blast from the past. A very familiar name to us Morini owners, as they used to be the U.K. importer.

Thanks for taking the time to post this. Yes Zadi supply the ignition locks to loads of euro bikes. I'll add it to the top of the thread and ask Jerry to add it to the list.

Actually I did a bit of digging and it seems the part number is 800084071, and you can find them on eBay etc. using that number. Harglo must add the CA bit as a Cagiva identifier.

Hello, I'm new here and my first contribution. I have a 2018 Sport Anniversary that I got August 2021. Would like to add to this parts compilation. My bike has Brembo brake & clutch pumps that use the Ducati 916/748 levers of models up to 1998. I dunno what previous model years use but as soon as I got the bike I recognised 'em - having owned a 916 Strada for 18 yrs... I've swapped 'em out for some cool black CNC alloy fully adjustables found on fleabay. When I've figured out how to contribute fully I'll upload some pix. Furthermore, I've devised a rider seat securing mod that dispenses with the utterly hopeless 'two bolts' in favour of a proper latch. If anyone is interested?
