Considering the guesstimations and the math some have been doing over the past few years, a few other posts, you guys weren't too far off. 2500 ish sounds about right. These articles just keep getting better. Whatever. Just going to run mine into the ground.

Then it might be poetic justice if SGs wife decides to divorce him and as she is the MD of his company runs off with all of his money! :)....... and then decided to refund all the money to the people he wronged . . . .

I'm still not sure where the 802 bikes registered figure came from, why didn't the interview publish that? Have they gone to DVLA or is this a figure that is on the books held by BDO?
 
In 2018 they launched the anniv. model, 50 of each of the CR, Sport and Cali, and apparently they all sold so that alone exceeds 1.5 bikes per week. Then we had 50 of the UK only street, which I thought all sold, so in 2 years they built/sold 200 bikes plus the Dommis in various guises, and I saw the launch of the first batch of V4's so they would add to the build tally.

That assumes that 50 of each were actually built and sold, truth seem to be a rare commodity in this debacle.
 
and now UK Government is softening laws on trading while insolvent, to help companies over the shut down.... just in time for SG then! ( joke). next model should be the Norton Corona.....

He would have (should have) kept records for tax purposes, bike build records, import / export records etc. These would be in the hands of BDO I suspect.
Take the BDO report with a pinch of salt. It does not mention any assets it seems and with investigations still ongoing I suspect it has been heavily vetted.

SG kept records???? It was the taxman who was his downfall. He kept a compicated web of different companies that would probably take the highest skilled accountant to untangle, if at all to most peoples satisfaction. I really suspect he has more than one secret squirrel account that he is keeping close to his chest.
 
As for limited editions all the Garner ones reminded me of a 1980s cartoon in MCN: "This is the limited edition model. They realized it wouldn't sell before they made too many!"

To keep the excitement up for a concept that has become VERY long in the tooth- like the 961 developed by Kenny Dreer in 2003 (!)- the easiest way is to create a plethora of "limited edition" versions. Every one will sell another handfull of an otherwise unshiftable model to gullible punters dreaming of an "investment".

And SG reminds me of that pension/ shares embezzeled of the Daily Mirror boss, Robert Maxwell. I wonder what happened to him? - well I don't actually, not that I would condone it, there may be someone, somewhere who are members of the Mafia or other crime organisations who are fuming about losing a lot of money and about SG, and they are just waiting for SG to get on the back of a boat, far out at sea, well you know the rest. It's called Kamra . . . .

I am not one of them (mine is standard) but I am sure that there are many on this forum that would fall under your characterisation of ‘gullible punters dreaming of an investment’. Or, alternatively, are most of them not just enthusiast owners of a unique, beautiful and very capable machine? Despite all that has occurred, I am having a ball on my CR and would not sell it under any circumstances. It took most of us a little time to get our 961’s sorted but once resolved the 961 is an awesome ride, that garners attention wherever it goes. I often have to make excuses to extract myself from conversations so that I can resume my ride. I have never had that level of interest with any bike that I have owned, and there have been many. This is still an enthusiasts site mate, you should be aware that there is still quite a bit of enthusiasm amongst us ‘gullible punters’ for the Norton 961.

The 961 once sorted is a good bike, but that is because of the employees working against what Skinner and Garner were doing in the background. Garner is and was a crook, the 961 is Deer's design and could have been good right from the start but for Garner and Skinner penny pinching. Just look at all the Chinese fake sensors and even suspension products being fitted to save pennies on a premium priced product.

By your description above SG was crooked to the bone, but I know it is your own opinion, but Skinner I think did not do any of the above, it was all SG.
 
I don't say that all "limited edition" buyers bought as an "investment". Some may have found that particular variant appealing.

However, the sales idea behind "limited editions" is always to get those who are blinded by the "investment" aspect. Usually "limited editions" come at the end of a product's appeal to the general public and are more often than not the flogging (ambiguous, that one) of a dead horse.
