Now that's where it gets tricky - milk is better for a dunk but dark is for real men; the sort of man who has a long exhaust. Light Bulb! how about a half and half milk and dark?
 
You could market them in Germany as Halb DUNKel Nobs..... You see what I did there?

To bring this madness to an end I paid a visit to our National Motorcycle Museum (but I guess you worked that out) in Solihull. Norton have donated number 1 of the new 40 Commandos as a raffle prize to help their constant fundraising program. I have just renewed my yearly membership which is only £29 and allows me to drift in and out when I like - especially nice to pop in early over the weekend for browse and a bacon and sausage sandwich. Highly recommended - have a go at the raffle on their web site . Hopefully Norton will continue to support this great museum which is located in an area which was home to so many motorcycle marques.

I didn't take any because there have been a few pics around of the new production line but will do. Any excuse for a bacon and sausage sandwich! I did notice that they do seem to be resolving some issues; where the rear damper rubs on the CF chain guard they now have permanently fixed with a foam pad;

That's not a fix, it's a bodge! The right way would be to relocate or re engineer to ensure adequate working clearance....

It's scepticism like this that has blighted British innovators like Sir Frank Whittle - are you really trying to tell me that this fully designed and engineered frictional interfacing separation component is just a bit of random car trim foam? I think you could very well be a fifth columnist......

Good pics. I particularly like those admirably styled, and clearly not too long, exhausts!

Nice overall colour scheme too.

And most of all, nice to see they’ve actually built one !!

Less good is I can’t see any changes, I’m partly guessing but I’m thinking the breathing set up is unchanged, we still have the rear shock foam pads, and I still think the oil cooler angle is wrong and it’ll clout the front mudguard.

Summary for me is (as already expected) there’s no design change upgrades for these final 40.
