TBH I was just struggling to understand how you could introduce variables in a system which appeared to be either: 'Hole open' or: 'Hole closed'.... That's all

I have two theories on this
I'd always thought that changing from a lever operated plunger IE either on or off to a cable have you infinite adjustment at the plungers and so you incrementally open and close them
As an example my t140 e would start and rev to 3500rpm with the enrichment lever on
If you turned it off before the engine was warm the engine would just cut dead there was nothing in between
When I fitted the cable conversion plungers you could start the engine and drop the revs to 1200 rpm or so and ride off
Don't forget this is twin carb setup not a single
Second theory
So I am thinking if the two cables weren't perfectly set one plunger could be lifting off the seat before the other and vice versa
So when I was closing my cable operated plungers one was closing before the other and giving me more control?
It'd be interesting to hear from someone with an enricher type carburettor that has changed from a lever to cable operation?

Setting the lever between ON and OFF is possible on the Mikuni VM although it can be a bit of a juggling act while riding...
ON...
...Mid...
...OFF
...when there are three of them...
...although I would normally set the centre carb lever off before riding and use the outer two as the plunger pin on the RH side can be pushed down (off) easily enough without looking and my T160 warms up pretty quickly.

As a side note my t160 will not start with the the throttle closed and the enrichers full on
I have to open the throttle as I press the starter button
As it warms up I turn the centre lever off first then the two outside carbs
The bike runs extremely well so I've never investigated

The Mikuni enrichener can be too rich in certain circumstances (warmer weather etc.) and I have to close the enricheners after two to three failed (usually electric) starting attempts after which it normally starts immediately and the enricheners can be opened again either partly, fully or not all at the same setting (so centre off, outers on, or 'mid', etc.).
The Commando VM can also be very rich for starting.

I like the look of that exhaust modification.
The lightweight 920 is finally done. It weighs 314 lbs without fuel.
I might get a few more pounds off it next winter, but it's getting tough to find places to trim. CJ sent me more Titanium to work with (thanks!)
The fairing is a 6 pound penalty and the second disc is about the same, but they will stay for now. The second disc looks right on there, the forks are made for it . The fairing actual improves acceleration a little, plus adds some rider comfort on long hauls.
I am hoping to change the rear shocks to Maxton once the US border fully opens. The alloy body cheap Chinese shocks on there now ride very comfortably, not sure how long they will last.
With the front end being a high performance Showa Big Piston anti dive type, it seems the back deserves something better!
