Weird world - I just bid on a left-shift Norton too and my left foot has no idea how to work a shifter! Maybe I'll be lucky and not win it, or whoever I build it for will live close enough to be the test rider :)

Yes, my right foot goes up for first down for the rest my left foot goes down for first up for the rest I guess I have well trained feet!
 
This Commando is a 1968 that when I received it 20 years ago still had the Widowmakers frame ! ( which i fixed ). I checked out the serial numbers and found that it was then 76th Commando ever made. Who knew? Looks nothing like it did in 1968!

Interesting question. Yes, both look great.
I’ve been a Roadster guy forever, but now am considering the Interstate. Not really sure why as my as my bladder won’t let me go more than the Roadster tank.🤣
Regarding Corbin Saddles.
Mike Corbin got his start by making a seat for his own Commando in his parents garage in the 70’s. Then his buddies wanted one and from there it went.
So, the Norton ‘Gunfighter’ is the original Corbin seat. All others are derivations.
