Wish that Trumpet were in my stack. I wonder how they feel in comparison to the old Bonnies.... Like your Commando a bunch too... very clean and crisp.

The Thruxton doesn't NEED 1200ccs but it sure feels good. It's got the perfect amount of growl, speed, and control. I love it. I know the crowd here won't be surprised, but that Triumph is a great bike to take out for a few weeks on a road trip. Some people insist on big touring bikes with faring but honestly the Thruxton feels great and with two saddlebags I can go your for a few weeks. I added a little windshield at some point but I'm about to remove it because it has only succeeded in deflecting bugs to my helmet.
 
Another few pics of my Norton from the other side with the 900 Thruxton beside it and the 1200 Thruxton is in the shed, will get all the bikes out one day and take a good pic with all of the bikes together, but the best thing about my 850 Commando/Featherbed is that its a one off build by my own hands, is still ridden and have not seen another one like mine, its my hot rod.

Gorgeous bikes and appreciate the joy that comes with the bike you know inside out from your own work. I also have the modern Thruxton for those days I want a worry free ride and some new age handling. They're entirely different experiences and I feel lucky to have the choice when I go out to my garage.

Thanks for sharing..would love to see all three together some day!

Nice!! So many good choices. I've got the dual sport which is great because it can do highways and dirt, but bad because it does neither really well. I've been debating trading it for a pure dirt bike.

Yes a true dirt bike is the only way to go and have had many Honda dirt bikes in the 48 years of riding, but the CRF450X can be rego, its very powerful, and handles so well in the dirt and will eat dual sport bikes in the dirt.
The Norton I have owned since new and was a everyday rider till I brought my new 2013 900 Thruxton I clocked up over 40k on it without touching it only the maintenance, then the 1200 Thruxton's came along and after a few years walking past the Green Thruxton S at the dealers to get my oil filters I decided to take one out for a test ride which at the time was the Thruxton R, I was stoked in how good they were but I was in love with that 2016 green Thruxton S, because it was old new stock and with the fairing kit fitted the price was dropped by $3.5k and I ask the salesman todays price they dropped another $1k off the price, that was in 2018, so far with over 20k on it but last year this virus with lock downs I didn't do much riding like I normally do stayed home and reno inside my old house, I have my 1200 Thruxton set up for traveling.

That's funny, similar story here. I fell in love with the 2018 Thruxton 1200 R but it cost too much. I found just about the last 2017 NOS in America and paid the $500 to ship it to me after getting a killer deal. Great bikes.
 
At the time I went for a test ride on a new 1200R the on road cost was $22,700 AU and the old stock 1200S was dropped from $21,500 AU down to $17,990 with the fairing kit already fitted and I got it for $16,990 AU and the only thing I have done to it was install a Meerkat x-pipe and Peter at Meerkat opened up the stock mufflers, a rack on the back and I made my saddle bag supports and down the road a set of Race Tec springs for the front and Ikon shocks for the rear, other than that everything else will stay stock.
My Norton is now semi retired just like its owner, the Thruxton is now my main bike, my 2013 Thruxton will be sold but I am not giving it away as most buyers expect and if it don't sell my youngest daughter will get it (she been riding since she was 9 but she is into her Japanese drift cars) as for the Norton she will get that as well come the day I die lol.

Except for the Commando motor Ashley it puts me in mind of my Model 99 wideline it still has the 99 fuel tank but it has a Atlas motor, but it needs a full restore. That's a real nice bunch of bikes you have there Ashley.

Mine couple yrs ago , Corbin seat now on Griso , Duke got shorty pazzos since photo as well …

I had a guy pull out in front of me on my ST4s a couple of years ago. I totaled the bike, but my shorty pazzos were fine and bolted right onto my Commando's Brembo MC on both brake and clutch.
 
I have the Brembo m/c on Commando , still use cable operated clutch though , only ever had it let go once and I did make it home from work ….
